History & Purpose:
Established in 1956 the Shreveport Photographic Society is an organization dedicated to the advancement of the art and science of photography that has not faltered in its 50 plus years of existence.
Originally founded by twelve men, mostly professional photographers, the society has grown to include men and women; serious enthusiasts who strive to achieve quality photography.
SPS encourages the advancement of photographic knowledge through enlightening programs and monthly photo competitions. We welcome those wanting to meet other photographers and enhance as well as share their work.
